Weedon railway station
Weedon railway station was a railway station situated to the north of and serving the village of Weedon in Northamptonshire, England. It was situated on the West Coast Main Line, and was also the starting point of the Weedon to Leamington Spa branch line, one platform of the station was dedicated for terminating branch line trains. The station also housed a busy goods depot which was attacked by German aircraft during the Second World War.
The station closed for passengers on 15 September 1958 and was demolished soon after. The fast lines of the West Coast Main Line pass through the site.
There has been recent talk of reopening the Weedon railway station, in the form of the Weedon Station Project. The proposal has been sent to the Department for Transport and Network Rail, awaiting a response.South of the station, two serious derailments in 1915 and 1951 occurred, killing 10 and 15 people respectively.Routes
