The Further Adventures of Hank the Cowdog

The Further Adventures of Hank the Cowdog is the second book in the Hank the Cowdog children's book series.

Plot

The story begins with a morning on the ranch. Sally May throws a fried egg that Loper refused to eat out the door to Pete the Barncat, who uses it to antagonize Hank. Hank scratches his nose bloody on the yard fence while trying to reach the egg, and subsequently crosses his eyes looking at the mark. When he tries to uncross them, he can't; they are apparently stuck.
Drover comes up in a lather because he sees the neighbor's pickup approaching, and he knows from experience that the beautiful Beulah is probably in it. She is, along with a new dog, a mean Doberman Pinscher named Rufus.
