Syed Wahidul Alam is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and a former Member of Parliament from Chittagong-5.Career
Alam was a member of the Pro-Pakistani Al Shams paramilitary unit during Bangladesh Liberation war. He is the former Member of Parliament from Chittagong-5. He served from 1991 to 2006. He was also the whip of the parliament.Alam has a daughter, Shakila Farjana, she is a barrister. She was arrested on 18 August 2015 on charges of financing the terrorist group, Shaheed Hamza Brigade.
