San Fermo della Battaglia


San Fermo della Battaglia is a comune in the Province of Como in the Italian region Lombardy, located about north of Milan and about southwest of Como. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 4,255 and an area of.
Its name "della Battaglia" derives from the battle which took place in the small town, between Garibaldi's Hunters of the Alps or "Cacciatori delle Alpi" and Austrian militaries in 1857.
San Fermo della Battaglia borders the following municipalities: Como, Montano Lucino.
