. It is found in a small
fragmented
range
in
Entre Ríos Province
in
northeastern
Argentina
and in the
Río Negro Department
of
western
Uruguay
. It is
restricted
to
sand dunes
, and is
threatened
by the
conversion
of this
habitat
to
forestry
plantations
.
