Planet Sheen

Planet Sheen is an American CGI animated television series. It is the second spin-off of the 2001 film . The series was picked up for 26 episodes by Nickelodeon for its first, and only season. Jeffrey Garcia returned as the voice of Sheen, and Bob Joles and Rob Paulsen are the voices of Nesmith and Doppy. The series was originally animated by C.O.R.E. in Toronto, but animation production moved to Bardel Entertainment in Vancouver after C.O.R.E closed down. At that time Chris Neuhahn took over as Supervising Producer. Planet Sheen premiered on Nickelodeon on October 2, 2010 in the United States. The series aired its final episode on February 15, 2013.

Plot

After sneaking into Jimmy's laboratory and finding Jimmy's new rocket ship, Sheen accidentally blasts himself into outer space when he disobeys Jimmy's warning note and presses the button Jimmy mentioned in his note. 4,000,001 lightyears away, Sheen crashes on Zeenu—an odd planet inhabited by aliens called Zeenunians. Soon after the crash, Sheen wants to go home, but his rocket ship was smashed when he flew into a house belonging to a Zeenunian named Dorkus.
Dorkus is furious that Sheen destroyed his home, and stole his job as supreme royal advisor from him, and intends to destroy him alongside his minion Pinter. Unfortunately, the Emperor takes a liking to Sheen and thwarts his plans at every turn.
Much of the show is centered around Sheen fixing his rocket, working for the Emperor and annoying Dorkus with his antics and wild destruction, and Dorkus trying to get back at him for it. While on Zeenu, Sheen makes many new friends, some of which include Doppy Doppweiler, the Emperor, Nesmith, Princess Oom, and a Zeenunian girl named Aseefa who becomes Sheen's crush and knows how to yodel. Aseefa has a pet Choctow named Chock Chock.
Besides Sheen, none of the other Jimmy Neutron characters appear nor are mentioned in this series. Carl did make a cameo in a flashback and Jimmy Neutron was mentioned while Sheen was looking at the rocket but didn't appear either. It is unknown why Jimmy and the others didn't go looking for Sheen.
However, in "The Tomorrow Boys" from , it is implied that Sheen did return from Zeenu. How and when he got back was never revealed. A reunion special was planned as it focuses on Jimmy and the gang going to rescue Sheen as the series finale, but unfortunately, due to low ratings, production costs and writing problems, the movie was cancelled, causing several writers to move on. Further to that extent, John A. Davis admitted in a Nickelodeon podcast that Sheen was only a character who worked in small doses, so giving Sheen his own show wasn't exactly the best move. This spinoff was cancelled after one season.

Emily Ashby of Common Sense Media gave the series 3 out of 5 stars; saying that, “While there isn't any content that's overtly problematic, there's equally little of any real value to kids.”
