Minister of State for Land Use and Biodiversity
The Minister of State for Land Use and Biodiversity is a junior ministerial post in the Department of Agriculture and the Marine of the Government of Ireland. The Minister works together with the senior Minister at this department and had special responsibility for Land Use and Biodiversity.
The Minister of State does not hold cabinet rank. The position, and in particular its previous title, should not be confused with the previous post of Minister for the Marine, which existed between 1987 and 1997 and held cabinet rank. The position was abolished in March 2011 but re-established in July 2020 with its current title.
The current office-holder is Senator Pippa Hackett, who was appointed in July 2020.List of office-holders
