Marghuz Village is a manor and Union Council of the Swabi District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.

Geography

The village has an altitude of. The village has two parts, Marghuz Yara Khel and Marghuz Aka Khel.

It has a population of approximately 25,000.

History

Marghuz was built on land confiscated by the invading Afghan Yousafzais under circumstances that forced the indigenous Dalazaks and Tanolis into exile in India or to accept the supremacy of the Afghans.
Marghuz has divided in two parts yara khel and aka khel.shahzada khan was appointed as the first khan of Marghuz village.
Marghuz has literacy rate of over 85.6%, one of the highest in Pakistan, and far exceeds the national average of approximately 49.9%.The female literacy rate is 92% and male literacy rate is approximately 80%. In village Marghuz, there is one Degree college for women, there are two High schools one each for girls and boys. There are two Middle schools, one each for girls and boys. There are four primary schools for girls and five for boys. In addition, there are also several private schools both for girls and boys. There is a hospital in the village of Pakistan Tehrek-e- Insaf recent speaker of national assembly. The legend cricketer Abdul Qadar also belong to village Marghuz.

Politics

The Awami National Party has been the largest political party in Marghuz since 1930. Approximately 25 percent of the populations has no political affiliation while about 35 percent are members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, less than 1 percent are affiliated with Pakistan Peoples Party, 20 percent with Pakistan Muslim League, 15 percent Awami National Party, and some 4 percent with JUI F and Jamaat-e-Islami.

Religion

The village hosts more than 70 mosques.

Economy

The village benefits from a large market for agriculture and household items. Tobacco and sugarcane are the main cash crops. Surrounding villages depend on the Deira bazaar, helping Marghuz to become a business hub.
