Manfred Leuchter
Manfred Johannes Leuchter is a German accordionist, composer, pianist and producer in world music. His stylistic influences are jazz, European classical music as well as African and Middle Eastern music.
Since 2000, and on the invitation of the German Goethe-Institut, Leuchter has toured with his jazz band in India, Romania, Morocco, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Palestine and Lebanon. Following encounters with local musicians, he has performed and recorded with the Hewar jazz fusion band from Syria or with oud player Driss el Maloumi in Morocco. Leuchter lives and works in Aachen, Germany, and lived for extended stays in Marrakesh, Morocco.
In addition, Manfred Leuchter works as a producer of various artists, such as German singer-songwriter Reinhard Mey, whom he occasionally accompanies on the accordion or on the grand piano. He is also a sound engineer as well as composer of theatrical music.Lineup
