Laplink
Laplink was a proprietary piece of software that was used to synchronize laptops with desktops, using the parallel port or serial port and a LapLink cable. It was the predecessor to Laplink PCmover.
LapLink typically shipped with serial and parallel cables. Serial cables had a much lower data transfer rate than parallel cables. Later LapLink iterations shipped with ethernet cables for port to port traffic.
