Kokartus
Kokartus
is an
extinct
genus
of
prehistoric
salamander
from
the Middle
Jurassic
Balabansai Svita
of
Kyrgyzstan
.
The
absence
of
clear
lines of arrested growth
and
annuli
in
long bones
suggests
that the
animals
lived in an
environment
with
stable
local
conditions
. Due to the
morphological
features
of the
bones
, it is assumed that the
living
animal
was
neotenic
.
