Julia Belluz
Julia Belluz is a Canadian health journalist and senior health correspondent for the website Vox.Biography
Belluz graduated from the Ryerson University School of Journalism in 2007. She then enrolled in the master's degree program at the London School of Economics, where she won an award that allowed her to begin an internship at the Times of London. After receiving her MSc from the LSE, she returned to Canada in 2009 to work at Maclean's as an entry-level reporter, which led her to develop her current interest in medical and public health journalism. While writing for The Medical Post and Maclean's, she was also a Knight Science Journalism Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She has also been a speaker at science-related events including the Canadian Science Policy Conference and the Lorne Trottier Public Science Symposium. She began working for Vox in 2014.Awards
Belluz received a Gold National Magazine Award in 2013 for her Maclean's blog "Science-ish". In 2016, she received the Balles Prize in Critical Thinking from the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry. In 2017, she received the American Society for Nutrition's Journalism Award.
