Johann Baptist Streicher
Johann Baptist Streicher was an Austrian piano maker.
Streicher learned the craft from his parents, Nannette and Andreas Streicher, who ran a successful piano-making business. He became a partner in the business in 1823 and, after the death of his parents, was the sole owner of the company. Among his pupils was the German piano maker. Streicher's son Emil sold the family business in 1896 to the because grandson had aspirations as a composer and no interest in continuing the franchise.
Paul McNulty made a copy of a Streicher piano from 1868.
