Garre

Afro-Asiatic language
spoken
by the Garre
people
inhabiting
southern
Somalia
,
Ethiopia
and
northern
Kenya
. It
belongs to
the family's
Cushitic
branch
, and has an
estimated
2.5 million
speakers
. Garre has
similarities
with the
Aweer language
. However, its speakers are
physically
and
culturally
distinct
from the
Aweer people
. Garre
language
is considered a Somalised
dialect
of
Borana language
.
