It is the centre of one of the oldest wine regions in France, producing the AOC Côtes du Frontonnais, based on the local négrette grape plus some or other of Syrah, Côt, cabernet franc, Cabernet sauvignon, fer servadou, gamay, cinsaut and
mauzac.
