History

Graphic designer and horror fan Ben Scrivens founded Fright-Rags in 2003. He began designing T-shirts based on horror media, and when he shared some of his designs on an online forum, he quickly received positive feedback. Scrivens devised a name, basic logo, and website for Fright-Rags during Labor Day weekend that year, and after spending $600 to create his first run of shirts, he received his first order from a customer on September 2, 2003.
Fright-Rags has released officially licensed apparel and other products—such as trading cards and enamel pins—based on a number of properties, including Alien, Child's Play, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Evil Dead, The Fly, The Gate, Halloween, Jaws, Return of the Living Dead 3, Saw, Scream, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
