East Vinod Nagar
East Vinod Nagar is a residential colony situated adjacent to Mayur Vihar Phase-II, Sanjay Lake Park and Kalyan Vas Janta Flats in East Delhi, India.
Divided into two parts East and West Vinod Nagar. It is situated across the Yamuna River, practically minutes away from Connaught Place and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station. It has its own shopping complexes and surrounding by ATM's. Many more are planned.
The colony is situated near by NH 24 across the road from the famous Akshardham Temple. The XIX Commonwealth Games is also very close by. East Vinod Nagar is a relatively recent development of Delhi.
It has also thus developed an image as a posh locality, mostly residential.
The whole area is divided into Blocks alphabetically named A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, R and J.
All Blocks have their own Resident Welfare Association which work for the development and upkeep of their area for residents.
East Vinod Nagar has acquired a cosmopolitan character over the years. It has a sizeable population of individuals from diverse religious groups and regions of India. It offers rich multi-cultural environment and rich diversity unique in its kind to the people living in the place.
General information
This place is famous for its numerous shops and offices, schools and hospitals, that it houses. Apart from this, it has residential Flats that offers good accommodation.Residents have easy access to Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Clinics, Diagnostic Labs, and Chemist Shops, telecommunication service providers, office equipment services, dry cleaners, Archies Gallery, Showrooms of various brands of clothing and accessories, two health clubs, sweets and ice cream shops as well as ATMs of several banks like Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, Central Bank of India, Punjab National Bank and others.
Besides this, Bimla Devi, Max and Lal bahadur shastri have a super specialty hospital. The area has nearby two petrol pumps.
Some parts of East Vinod Nagar however have been commercialized. The area has a good mix of Houses and Flats. The most popular market area is the 'Bhati Chock' Market which houses brands of various commodities. One day of the week, an evening market is organized where local residents can buy vegetables and other day-to-day things.
It is a green area with many parks and gardens also has various clothing stores and restaurants as the major attraction. Local residents can be seen doing exercises in the morning, playing cards and cricket by youngsters during the day.

Administration
The colony has a legislative assembly seat of its own. As of 8 December 2013, the seat is held by Mr Manish Sisodia of Aam Aadmi Party as he defeated Mr. Anil Kumar Chaudhary of Indian National Congress. This contest result is a shock defeat for INC as East Vinod Nagar has traditionally been considered an invincible fortress of INC. Mr manish sisodia is a prominent leader of AAP.The colony's postal code, which it shares with adjacent residential colony Mayur vihar, is 110091. The locality contains a Police Station Kalyanpuri and a Post Office Kayanvas. The area has 24-hour Electricity and water supply under normal circumstances. That complex has ample parking space which is not chargeable.
Education
East Vinod Nagar also has schools such as Sarvodaya Bal / Balika Vidyalaya, MCD School, Rajdhani Public School, Upadhayay Public School, Mayur Public School.All the schools are private except Sarvodaya Bal / Balika Vidyalaya schools that follow English as the primary language medium of instruction, with Hindi being the second language. The structure and style of education is modeled on the British education system.

Temples
Beside Hindu temple, there is a Masjid, and a Sikh Gurdwara on the east side of J-Block now near Pandav Nagar Police station.
There is a Famous "Hanuman Mandir " on the just opp to MCD Primary School. The temple is decorated with flowers and decorative material throughout the year. This is a fine temple complex housing the idols of a large pantheon of Hindu deities. The Neelam Mata Temple is also the nerve centre of many cultural activities. The other temples include Hanuman Temple, Durga and Shiv Temple. Other places of worship includes a Sikh Gurdwara and Shirdi Sai Temple.
And also, there is an old,famous church located in G block, named as "Calvary Tabernacle Church".This church has remained in this colony from the start.
People
East Vinod Nagar has diverse residents in terms of occupation, income levels, and religion. There is equal presence of Business Class and Salaried Class. The early settlers in the coloney were Gurjars who helped in establishment of this coloney. Major Chunk of the residents in East Vinod Nagar are Gurjar Families, Hindu along with , Uttrakhand, Bengali, Baniya, Jain, Kayastha, and Sindhi. The location of the nearest Metro Station Vinod Nagar is near J-block expected to be completed in 2016 which makes it connected to various parts of Delhi gives even greater access to the area.
