East Arkansas Community College


East Arkansas Community College is a community college in Forrest City, Arkansas in the Arkansas Delta.
The catalyst for the school's founding was a 1971 donation by Betty Jo Hodges, which allowed for the purchase of a 40-acre campus site. St. Francis County voters approved a tax increase in 1973, which funded capital construction at the site. The college began holding classes on August 26, 1974. 684 students were enrolled for the initial semester.
In 2005, the school opened an extension center in Wynne. Arkansas State Representative Marshall Wright, a lawyer in Forrest City, is a member of the EACC Foundation Board. Enrollment for the 2016-17 school year was 1,368 students .
