Chengdu Medical College


Chengdu Medical College is a medical college in Chengdu, China. It occupies two campuses, Tianhui and Xindu, covering a total area of 1104.9 acres. It offers full-time education to master's degree level.

History

The college was established in 1947, during the Chinese Civil War. In 1993, it was renamed PLA Medical Higher Junior College. In May 1999, it was merged into the Third Army Medical University and renamed Third Medical College of the Army of Chengdu Military Medical University. Thus it has a long history of administration by the military.

Students and Teachers

In 2014, there were 11,000 full-time students at the college. Of the faculty of 697, 270 were professors or associate professors, i.e. 38.74%; 454 held post-graduate qualifications. There were 141 graduate instructors, 2 part-time doctoral tutors and 4 provincial teaching masters of Sichuan.
