Catecholaminergic means "related to catecholamines". The catecholamine neurotransmitters include dopamine, epinephrine, and norepinephrine.
A catecholaminergic agent is a chemical which functions to directly modulate the catecholamine systems in the body or brain. Examples include adrenergics and dopaminergics.
