Cañon City High School


Cañon City High School is a high school in Cañon City, Colorado, United States. The current campus was built in 1961 with major additions in the 1980s and the late 2000s. The former school building now serves as Cañon City Middle School and was built in 1929.

The vocal music department at Cañon City High School is under the direction of Mr. K.Todd Albrecht assisted by accompanist Arlene Watson. There are three divisions of choirs at CCHS. They are:
Both Tiger Ladies and Encore! have competed at the Colorado High School Show Choir Competition each year since 1999, and have had one or both choirs place in the top 3 every time. Encore! has placed first in multiple years, as well as receiving numerous choreography awards. Tiger Ladies has also placed numerous times, as well as receiving honorable mentions over the years.
Encore! also competes in the Music in the Parks festival in Denver every year, and have won Best Show Choir and Best Overall Choir for over 5 years running.
The Cañon City High School Vocal Music Department puts on countless shows each year, including, but not limited to:
Since the Fall of 2016, the CCHS Vocal Music Department has teamed up with the University of Northern Colorado. CCHS has helped by putting on concerts to fund raise money in support of the Musical Theatre Seniors going to New York City as a part of the University's New York Showcase each year.

Sexting scandal

In 2015, a major sexting scandal at the school involving a significant portion of the student body, including members of the football team, was covered by the media.
