Anbil Sathyavaheesvarar temple


Anbil Alanthurai Temple is a temple dedicated to Shiva, located on the banks of the Kollidam river in Anbil, a small village near Lalgudi.
The temple has a 5-tier Raja gopuram, an outer prakaram, and a nandavanam. Many inscriptions cover the walls of the temple. The architecture is from the Chola period.

Legend

The vinayagar, Lord Ganesa, is called "Sevi Saitha Vinayagar" and is believed to have lent his ears for the songs of Sambandar.
