1951 Portuguese presidential election
The Portuguese presidential election, 1951 was held on 22 July. Francisco Craveiro Lopes won. He was the only candidate. Both opposition candidates became ineligible before the election was held; Manuel Quintão Meireles withdrew and Rui Luís Gomes was declared a communist by the Salazar dictatorship and his campaign suspended.Results
